Facility handoff

Mark the posting as sent

For a jail that takes bonds by fax or in person, deliver the facility documents yourself, then record that you did.

Some facilities don't take bonds by email. For a jail that takes a fax, or one where you drop the paperwork off in person, you deliver the facility documents yourself. Then you mark the posting as sent, so Vonda knows it's with the jail and the co-signers are told.

Before you start

  • You can edit the posting. Only the posting's assigned agent or an agency admin sees Mark as Sent.

  • The posting shows Send to Facility. Every co-signer has signed. See Track who has signed.

  • The facility takes a fax or an in-person delivery. The status card tells you which:

    • Send the facility documents via fax shows the facility's fax number.
    • Deliver the facility documents in person shows where the facility is.

If it says Send the facility documents via email instead, see Email the posting to the facility.

  • There's at least one facility document. If the status card says Facility documents missing, the button is hidden. An admin can add a facility form in Settings → Documents, or you can attach a facility document.

Deliver and mark it sent

Download the facility documents

On the Documents card, open the menu on each document in the Facility section and choose Download. See View or download a posting's documents.

Deliver them

Fax the documents to the number in the status card, or take them to the facility.

Click Mark as Sent

Back on the posting, click Mark as Sent in the status card.

Confirm

The Mark the posting as sent? dialog asks you to confirm the documents were faxed or delivered. Click Mark sent.

What happens next

  • The status changes to Awaiting Approval.
  • The co-signers are told by text or email that the bond documents were delivered to the facility, and how. Their bail page shows Documents on the way.
  • The Booking card shows when the posting was sent and how.
  • The posting gets an Appear link. You can copy it from the Booking card and give it to the jail, so staff can check the paperwork and record their answer online. See Share the Appear link.

If the jail doesn't use the Appear page, you record the release yourself. See Mark the defendant released.
