After release

Mark court attendance

Record whether the defendant showed up to a hearing once its date has passed.

After each hearing, record whether the defendant was there. A missed hearing alerts the co-signers and your agency right away. Vonda won't let you exonerate a posting until every past court date is marked attended or missed.

Before you start

  • You can edit the posting. Only the posting's assigned agent or an agency admin sees the attendance options.
  • The hearing has already happened. The options only show once the court date's time has passed.
  • The posting is released and open. It shows Awaiting Court Date, Mark Attendance or Exonerate, and it isn't closed or archived.

Find the hearings that need a mark

  • A past court date with no mark shows an amber Mark attendance badge next to its bond number.
  • Once every hearing on a posting is behind the defendant, but one still has no mark, the posting's badge reads Mark Attendance. On the Dashboard, these postings wait in the Waiting for agent lane.
  • On the posting itself, the status card says so, for example 2 court dates still need attendance marked. Mark each one attended or missed before exonerating.
  • The Exonerate button stays in the status card meanwhile, but Vonda refuses the exoneration until every past court date is marked. See Exonerate a posting.

Mark attendance

Open the date's menu

Find the court date on the bond's card, on the Calendars page or on the Dashboard, and click the three-dot menu at its end.

Choose Mark attended or Mark missed

Click Mark attended if the defendant appeared, or Mark missed if they didn't. There's no confirmation step: the mark is saved straight away.

The badge on the court date changes to Attended or Missed.

Fix a mark

If you picked the wrong one, open the same menu. It offers the other mark, plus Clear attendance to remove the mark altogether.

What happens next

  • Marking a hearing missed notifies people. Every co-signer on the posting is told, on the contact they verified, and so is your agency: the posting's assigned agent, over the channels they chose in their notification settings.
  • Marking a hearing attended notifies nobody.
  • When nothing is left to mark, and no hearing is ahead, the posting's badge changes to Exonerate, and the status card says This posting has no upcoming court dates and can be exonerated. See Exonerate a posting.

Check your marks before you exonerate

Once a posting is exonerated, its court dates no longer have a menu, so you can't change an attended or missed mark from the posting.
